Meerut-Rishikesh Namo Bharat Extension Gets Approval, Survey Work Begins Soon

The Namo Bharat semi high speed regional rail service will be extended from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, covering a distance of approximately two hundred and thirty kilometers within three hours. This extension, which is an additional one hundred and fifty kilometers, is expected to provide a modern transit alternative for pilgrims and residents traveling to Delhi. Survey work for the proposed track is set to begin soon, following an agreement between the two state governments and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation.
